What is the benefit of solid wood furniture? []

Solid wood furniture is often the preferred choice of fine furniture collectors due to its beauty, strength, ease of repair, and longevity. It is made from solid boards of the same species placed side-by-side and glued to create a table top, dresser top, side panels, etc. Geovin uses the widest boards possible, in fairly even widths, with well-matched grain patterns for the most appealing furniture. Using many narrow or varied-width boards is not attractive, and is usually an indicator of lesser-quality manufacture. Nearly all Geovin drawer fronts are crafted from a single board rather than multiple boards glued together. It is more labor-intensive to make our furniture this way, but we believe the beauty and integrity of the finished product is worth it.

What is 'wood movement' and how will it affect my furniture? []

Solid wood expands and contracts because it is a cellular material which reacts to changes in humidity. Wood takes in moisture during the humid summer months and releases moisture in the dry winter months. It is impossible to completely prevent wood movement in solid wood furniture. We engineer our designs to allow for this natural phenomenon. Minor wood movement does not affect the structural integrity of the furniture, and is not considered a defect.

What is the warranty on my Geovin furniture? []

The Geovin Furniture warranty is limited in that it is provided to you, the original purchaser and owner. The Geovin Furniture Warranty does not apply to furniture that has been abused or used in a business environment and/or for commercial purposes. The Geovin Furniture Warranty only applies to furniture used for normal residential purposes. Our warranty does not cover products sold in “distressed” or “as is” condition, products sold “second-hand” or products purchased from a retailer or any other form of reseller not authorized by Geovin Furniture to sell our product.
All of the Limited Warranties set forth below are subject to these Warranty Limitations.

Geovin Furniture guarantees its products against any material or manufacturing defect for a period of twelve (12) months from date of purchase. The present warranty applies to the initial purchaser of any new regular product acquired at an authorized dealer. Within the warranty period, Geovin Furniture pledges to replace, at its discretion, any defective product or part with an identical or substantially similar one, or to repair it at no charge through the authorized dealer. However, the final decision with respect to the evaluation of the product’s condition, the cause or nature of the defect, as well as the means of settlement is the sole responsibility of Geovin Furniture subject to an exclusive right.
